More FAQs

Carpooling is highly recommended and could be arranged via this blog. Here are some additional questions I've received:

Do I have to attend all five days?
No, you could go to one site per day or, two sites on one day and three on another, or all five on one day. Or you can skip one or more days altogether. But it's most fun to go when the painters are at work: in the morning of each day. Most of the locations are public and you can visit at any time, except for Springhouse Cellar Vineyard in Mosier; it is private and scheduled for artists and writers to visit from sun-up to sundown on Saturday, August 28th, with a reception at 5 pm at their tasting room in Hood River.

What is the application process?
This is not a competition. The painting side of the event is, and someday a competition might be included on the writing side, but for the time being this is an open event. Everyone who enters is invited to send their best piece for publication on the CCA website, and everyone is invited to participate in the reading (though we'll have to limit the numbers if they exceed what can be accommodated in one evening).

When will I receive my confirmation letter?
If you've already signed up, thanks! We will send the first round of confirmation letters shortly after the registration deadline of August 10.

Can you recommend accommodations?
Yes! Visit the accomodations page of this blog: Plein Air 2010 Accomodations.
